Uluslararası Statejik Araştırmalar Kurumu
The International Strategic Research Organization (ISRO)(Uluslararası Stratejik AraÅŸtırmalar Kurumu - USAK)]is an Ankara-based Turkish think tank.

Established in 2004, the International Strategic Research Organization (ISRO - USAK) has gained wide recognition as the Turkey's foremost source of independent and balanced information and research on a broad range of issues affecting Turkey and its region.

The USAK is one of Turkey's and the world's leading organizations for the analysis of global issues. The ISRO satisfies a need in Turkey, its region and in the world for a body of informed opinion on defence and security issues and stimulates greater public awareness of national and international developments.

The USAK is a non-partisan, non-profit and non-governmental (NGO) research organization attracting concerned people from a wide range of backgrounds.

The institution is known for its close to center politics in terms of political spectrum. The surveys conducted by U.S.A.K. has enjoyed a substantial coverage in the
Turkish press and media including English language dailies in the past.

The USAK aims to help individuals and organizations in understanding an ever-changing and increasingly complex world. The USAK serves as one of the focal points for research in Turkey by convening seminars, conferences, hosting visiting scholars, publishing books, papers and journals, organizing an extensive program of research programs and projects

Through a dynamic program of seminars, conferences, workshops, publications, educational activities and media relations, the USAK enhances the basis for informed choice by the Turkish public and its leaders.

The organization works to stimulate debate and research on international relations and security issues. The main key issues in its researches are security and co-operation.

The Centre welcomes visitor applications from academics at other national or international institutions, advanced doctoral research students, and those with a professional or academic interest in international relations. The USAK is not intended to be a forum for single-issue advocacy or lobbying.

The USAK believes that the study of international relations "suffers from limited Western-centric understanding and that they intend to provide an alternative perspective and needs more different approaches".
