On 23 November at 2:15 a.m. a bomb exploded in front of the Turkish Consulate General in Melbourne, Australia. The bomb was put by two Armenians, Hargob Levonian and Levon Demirian. Hargob Levonian died – one of the perpetrators- and one Australian woman injured. Levon Demirian planned to escape to Lebanon after the attack, yet he was captured and sentenced to life in prison in December 1987. No organization undertook this attack. The police considered the ARA (JCAG) as responsible for the attack.
